Hi! I’m Sarah. I’m a naturalist, eco-tour guide, writer and full-time Florida Keys resident for over 21 years.
Most mornings, I guide kayak and paddleboard eco-tours. I absolutely LIVE to paddle and look for wildlife, it’s what I do on most of my own vacations! I love creating opportunities for visitors to encounter Florida’s diverse wildlife, always with the goal of education and conservation.
I’m also on the staff of the Key West Wildlife Center, directly assisting in the rescue, rehabilitation & release of native birds, bats, turtles, neonatal mammals, etc..
In 2007, I wrote & revised 3 editions of a travel guide, Key West: A Guide to Florida’s Southernmost City, for Tourist Town Guides. From 2020-2024, I created & maintained an audio tour app called BEACHBUNNY’S ORIGINAL TOURS OF KEY WEST. Check out my AUDIO TOUR OF DOWNTOWN KEY WEST on WeGoTrip!
I started my career with a B.A. in Creative Writing & Literature, then worked as a literary scout in NYC. I’ve had poems, short stories, travel writing & book reviews published in various magazines, journals & anthologies. I first attempted blogging as Wild Earthling.
I’m a theater geek, on-and-off, since high school. I’m currently in my 4th season performing with Key West Fringe, including the two-woman show The Gulf (2023) and the musical I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change (2025.)
